Coaches' expectations in connection with their approach to athletes

The bachelor thesis introduces a topic of coache's expectations in connection with their approach to athlete. Expectations in context of Pygmalion effect or self-fulfilling prophecy are, at the beginning, generally characterized from a social psychology point of view and then more specified in terms of sport psychology. The thesis is based on a four-step expectation cycle, which is applied on specific areas of sport psychology. The aim of this work was to map which sources are used by coach to create expectations towards some athlete and how these expectations effects his/her approach towards the athlete. The empirical part of the thesis introduces a research design focusing on changes of coache's behavior towards the athlete, all in context with expectations the coach helds towards the athlete. CBS-S (Coach Behavior Scale for Sport) is used as a measuring tool. Key words Self-fulfilling prophecy, Pygmalion effect, coache's expectation, coach-athlete relationship

Zkuste otočit zrcadlo a "vytvořte takovou knihovnu, do které byste sami rádi chodili a pomáhejte knihovně tak, abyste se v ní sami cítili dobře”.

This diloma thesis is focused on the topic of the relationship between the teacher and the pupils at the elementary school.The theoretical part describes changes in the czech school system after 1989 and concerns developement of the new educational aims. It also deals with the personality of a teacher and his temperament, choice of teacher´s profession and requirements for this job. The theoretical part also contains the question of mutual relationship between the teacher and the pupils. In the practical part the author focuses on the results of the research of teacher´s interactive style which was accomplished by the method of the questionnaire.
